Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened6 tablespoons butter-flavored shortening1-2/3 cups packed brown sugar2/3 cup sugar3 large eggs, room temperature1/3 cup buttermilk2 teaspoons vanilla extract3 cups quick-cooking oats2-1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda1-1/4 teaspoons salt3/4 cup butterscotch chips1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375°. In a very large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in buttermilk and vanilla.

Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chips and pecans.

Drop by tablespoonfuls 3 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until golden brown, 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
